In
the
times
when
each
and
every
actor
worth
his
salt
has
dabbled
in
being
a
part
of
a
promotional
music
video
of
an
upcoming
film,
it
comes
as
a
surprise
to
see
rani
mukherjee
doing
so
only
after
being
in
the
industry
for
around
a
decade.
Ever
since
Rani
made
her
debut
with
Raja
Ki
Aayegi
Baraat,
she
has
been
a
part
of
number
of
successful
films
(number
of
them
being
musicals)
but
never
once
did
she
appear
in
a
promotional
music
video.
Eventually
she
is
taking
a
plunge
into
the
scheme
of
things
by
consenting
to
be
a
part
of
a
promotional
music
video
for
her
next
Friday's
release
Laaga
Chunari
Mein
Daag.
She
features
in
the
stylishly
directed
video
for
the
title
song
'Laaga
Chunari
Mein
Daag'
which
is
rendered
by
Shubha
Mudgal
and
Mita
Vashishth,
composed
by
Shantanu
Moitra
with
additional
lyrics
by
Swanand
Kirkire.
Originally
composed
by
Roshan
and
written
by
Sahir
Ludhianvi,
the
song
has
lyrics
'spoken'
rather
than
'sung'
by
Mita
Vashisht
whereas
Shubha
Mudgal?s
haunting
rendition
goes
well
with
the
lounge
mood
of
the
track.
The
video
is
shot
solely
on
rani
mukherjee
as
she
is
shown
in
a
pensive
mood
while
draped
in
white
for
most
part
of
the
song.
There
are
number
of
close
up
shots
with
Rani
to
depict
the
pain
that
her
character
in
the
film
goes
through.
Laaga
Chunari
Mein
Daag
is
the
second
directorial
venture
for
Pradep
Sarkar
after
Parineeta.
The
film
comes
in
the
wake
of
producer
YASH
RAJ
FILMS'
recent
blockbuster
Chak
De
India.
