Brushing off rumours of joining politics, Ravi confirms, "I am not joining politics. However, I am supporting the Congress party in their campaign in UP". Ravi met up with Priya Dutt and Kripa Shanker Singh at Andheri Sports Complex, where he was doing a show last week. They expressed their astonishment at the response he had received during Bigg Boss. Resultantly, Kripa Shanker asked Ravi to join Congress party. After pondering over the offer for a day, Ravi finally reverted to them and said a yes. "I liked the idea presented to me, so I decided to be a part of the campaign," he explains. Ravi has a huge fan following in UP, owing to his successful career in Bhojpuri cinema. Taking this thought forward, he will try to convince his fans to support the Congress and Rahul Gandhi.
Ravi assures that this political campaign will not hamper his acting career, "I will never stop doing films. This campaign is only temporary." Ravi Kishen has had a vivid Bhojpuri film career. Currently, five of his Bhojpuri films are running in theatres. He also plans to do a film by filmmaker Rajnibhai Patel. "The movie is still untitled. But I am playing the role of an NRI in it." This untitled venture will be shot in Canada.
