Sushmita
Sen
took
some
time
off
from
her
schedule
to
visit
the
sailors
of
INS
Viraat
for
NDTV's
show
'Jai
Jawan'.
At
the
time
of
shooting
the
ship
was
sailing
about
100
nautical
miles
into
the
Arabian
Sea,
off
the
coast
of
Mumbai.
Sushmita
was
flown
from
Mumbai
by
the
Pilots
of
the
Viraat
in
their
Chetaks.
She
landed
to
a
rousing
welcome
given
to
her
by
the
sailors
and
was
welcomed
by
the
senior
officers
of
the
Viraat.
After
meeting
the
captain
at
the
compass
where
she
assisted
in
giving
commands
to
help
steer
the
ship,
Sushmita
was
taken
to
watch
the
Air
Power
demonstration.
Sush
also
volunteered
for
the
'Jackstay'
which
involved
her
being
sent
across
to
another
ship,
the
INS
Beas
with
the
help
of
cables.
It
was
a
dangerous
feat
to
perform
as
we
were
in
the
middle
of
the
ocean.
She
then
also
had
a
lunch
with
the
sailors
and
officers
After
this
she
met
Bravo,
the
official
mascot
of
the
World
Military
games.
Together
they
flagged
of
the
tug
of
war
competition
held
between
Sushmita's
team
and
the
Captain's
team.
Sushmita
cheered
and
participated
in
the
game
and
finally
her
team
emerged
victorious.
The
grand
finale
was
the
stage
show
which
was
held
in
the
hangar,
way
down
below
the
flight
deck.
She
recited
some
poetry
and
also
danced
to
the
track
'Mehboob
Mere'
from
Fiza
.Having
traveled
all
the
way
she
had
brought
some
messages
for
the
sailors
from
their
family
back
home.
Before
her
goodbye
Sush
sang
"aaj
jaane
ki
zid
na
karo" for
the
sailors.
