Aamir, the perfectionist, does it again

Still from Taare Zameen Par
A few years ago, Aamir Khan's film Lagaan was not only nominated to the Oscars but also made it to the final 5 in the Best Foreign Film category. The film failed to win the coveted award then but the perfectionist has got one more chance to grasp what he missed, as his much-talked-about film Taare Zameen Par has been selected as India's official entry to the Oscars.

Aamir dared to walk the road less taken. When everyone was busy making regular commercial, action and horror films, he took up the woes of dyslexic patients through Taare Zameen Par. The film depicts the story of a dyslexic child played by Darsheel Safary and his teacher played by Aamir Khan. It brings to light how these patients could lead normal lives if given special care. This critically acclaimed film was also a big commercial success.

Aamir, who is currently busy shooting for Raju Hirani's 3 Idiots with Kareena Kapoor in Ladakh, expressed his happiness on his film being nominated to the Oscars. Taare Zameen Par beat films like Jodhaa Akbar, A Wednesday, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Rock On, Black&White, 2 Marathi films and one Telugu film in the race to the Oscars.

Let's hope Taare Zameen Par brings home Oscar award this time around!
