Abhishek ready to apologise for mom

Many may wonder why actor Abhishek Bachchan keep mum when his mother Jaya Bachchan was targeted by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists. Well, the actor was not staying idle. In fact, he was trying all his might to help his mom even as he was busy shooting.

He said the incident was unfortunate. He added that he too was ready to apologise besides his parents, if anybody wanted so. He also went on to say that he is a son of the soil, as he was born and brought up in the state, particularly in Mumbai. He sees himself as an Indian and doesn't believe in state-wise demarcations.

Earlier, MNS Chief Raj Thackeray demanded a public apology from Abhishek's mom Jaya Bachchan for her comment at the audio release function of Drona that she would speak in Hindi, as she belonged to Uttar Pradesh. MNS activists withdrew the agitation after Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan offered apology.
