The
trend
of
remixing
old
hit
numbers
and
presenting
it
as
a
new
version,
picturised
on
the
current
stars,
has
picked
up
in
a
big
way.
The
latest
number
that
had
India
grooving
was
Rishi
Kapoor's
chartbuster
"Bachna
Ae
Haseeno" from
Hum
Kissi
Se
Kum
Nahin,
which
was
remixed
by
Vishal-Shekhar
and
then
picturised
on
Rishi's
son,
the
new
teenage
heartthrob
Ranbir
Kapoor.
The
super
success
of
the
number
seems
to
have
worked
like
a
catalyst
and
now
we
have
confirmed
news
that
Nikhil
Advani's
latest
project,
Chandni
Chowk
To
China
is
going
in
with
a
similar
plan.
The
chosen
song
is
the
iconic
"Bambai
Se
Aaya
Mera
Dost"
(from
Aap
Ki
Khatir,
1977),
the
number
which
proved
Bappi
da's
mettle
as
a
singer
and
made
him
a
familiar
name,
such
was
its
popularity.
While
the
original
number
was
picturised
on
Vinod
Khanna
and
Rekha,
this
time
around
its
Bollywood's
very
own,
'Khiladi',
Akshay
Kumar,
who
will
groove
to
the
infectious
number
in
the
January
16
release.
While
on
the
"Bambai
Se
Aaya
Mera
Dost",
Bappi
Lahiri
has
already
re
–
recorded
the
number.
The
music
of
Chandni
Chowk
To
China
is
by
Nikhil
Advani's
favourites
Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy
and
is
expected
to
be
out
sometimes
in
early
December.
