Akshay to do torch relay for Special Olympics

As you might know that Special Olympics is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition. Special Olympics World Winter Games will be held in Boise, Idaho, USA from February 2 to 13, 2009.

Prior to the World Winter Games, a Global Law Enforcement Torch Run is organized and Delhi will be one of the Host cities for the Torch Run. Delhi shares this honor of hosting the Flame of Hope with other cities like, Athens, Johannesburg, San Jose (Costa Rica), Warsaw, Shanghai, New York, Abu Dhabi, Miami & Los Angeles. This global event has the kind support of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), which is the founding Organization of the Global Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

The Torch will pass through Delhi on 21st December 2008 and our Celeb supporter & brand ambassador Akshay Kumar will be running along with the Torch. Also Chief Minister of Delhi Mrs. Shiela Dixit will be present at the ceremonies to Flag off the Torch Run.
