Surprise, surprise but not really an unexpected one! It is the Bhatt camp that has come out trumps as far as the box-office triumph for the first part of 2008 is concerned. Their Kunal Deshmukh directed Emraan Hashmi and Sonal Chauhan starrer
Jannat has managed to deliver the sucker punch against its detractors. While
Jodhaa Akbar and
Race are also major successes, with
Bhoothnath too joining the list of successful films, its
Jannat that is the biggest one of them all.
Produced at a cost of 8-10 crores, the movie was sold for around 11-12 crores to the distributors and in three weeks it has netted over 30 crores, just from its Indian theatrical run and still counting!
Well, this is not for the first time as the Bhatt camp had achieved the same distinction with Raaz in 2002 and Murder in 2004.
