kajol
may
not
be
seen
much
in
films
these
days
but
the
bubbly
actress
surely
has
her
hands
full
with
endorsements
and
some
charitable
work.
Kajol
was
recently
appointed
as
the
goodwill
ambassador
of
the
U.K.
based
Loomba
Trust,
a
charity
dedicated
to
the
education
of
widow's
children
in
and
around
India.
The
function
held
at
Whitehall
London
(on
the
occasion
of
UN
International
day
to
celebrate
non-violence-
Oct
2)
saw
some
bigwigs
such
as
Cherie
Blair
(wife
of
former
British
P.M.
Tony
Blair),
Mayor
of
London
Boris
Johnson
and
India's
high
commissioner
to
the
U.K.
Shiv
Shankar
Mukherjee
in
attendance.
Cherie
Blair
who
also
happens
to
be
the
President
of
the
Loomba
Trust
presented
kajol
with
a
plaque.
The
actress
said
that
she
would
do
her
best
to
be
worthy
of
this
appointment.
The
Loomba
Trust,
founded
by
Raj
Loomba,
has
already
helped
educate
3500
children
of
widows
in
India
and
plans
to
extend
its
activities
to
Sri
Lanka,
Nepal
and
South
Africa
in
the
coming
years.
