Malaika Arora's special birthday gift

Malaika Arora has got her most precious gift till now from her six-year old son Arhaan. Talking about it, she says, "I haven't got my birthday gift from Arbaaz as yet, but on Diwali, my son gave me a beautiful chain in white gold with a bejewelled cross. He was out with my sister-in-law Alvira, saw the chain and pendant, liked it and picked it up.

Arhaan said it's for 'mamma'. I am in love with it. Every day now I wear it as it perks me up. As far as Arbaaz's gift is concerned, I think he's planning to whisk me away to Maldives. That would be my ideal gift." Talking about Arbaaz, what did she think about his love-making scene in Fashion? "I think it was shot in a very aesthetic and tantalising way. I wasn't shocked. I told Arbaaz that if he's shooting, he should do it well. He's fantastic in the film.

What I found amusing was that when I was watching the scene at a trial everybody else around me from my sister Amrita to my friends were watching me. They all wanted to see how I was reacting to the scene, littIe realising that I was comfortable. I was more concerned about the character and the way it was shot. I didn't want it to be shot in a tacky or vulgar way."

Her film EMI releases today where she's paired opposite her friend Arjun Rampal. "Arjun persuaded me to do the role of Nancy who plays his love interest. He said 'trust me, you will have lots of fun and both your songs are kick-ass'. I took up EMI as it only involved 15 days of shoot and had an interesting role. We shot my role in and around Bandra. I saw the film on Wednesday night at a trial and enjoyed it. Arjun keeps joking that after EMI, now I am truly eligible for the best debut of the year!"

Has she ever taken an EMI and faced problems? "Yes ,of course! I have taken loans for my car and new house in Bandra but I have never defaulted on my payments. I am very prompt as I hate being in debt to anyone."
