Prachi Desai bids adieu to Balaji

Everyone knows that Prachi Desai is Ekta Kapoor's protege and TV's soap queen is not just fond but extremely protective of her. Soon after her debut in Rock On!!, Prachi began receiving offers from big banners but the actress wasn't free to accept them, as she was bound by deal to do two more films with Balaji Motion Pictures. Ekta has now rele-ased her from the agreement.

According to the source, "Prachi had signed up for two films with Balaji and Sunil Shetty's Popkorn Entertainment too but now they've both freed her from the obligation. The offers that the newbie has been getting are from banners are bigger than Balaji and Popkorn. So the Rock On!! girl requested Ekta to free her from the bond, and though it was difficult, the TV Czarina understood that it was best for Prachi's career and let her go."

Ekta admits, "We have let Prachi go as it's a very important phase in her career right now. The films she signs are critical. I have released her from her dates and told her we will approach her only when we get something really big."

Says a source, "Prachi has been getting enquiries from very big banners. But they are concerned about her signing small films like Jashan - which would affect her brand. The top guns want to present her in a bigger and better manner. But Prachi had signed Jashan and Life Partner much before Rock On!! released. She didn't want to back out from the Bhatts' film. They'd already put up a huge set and she didn't wanted to be unprofessional. Now she isn't signing anymore films. She'd rather wait than sign any films that come her way. She is willing to wait till next year, when these big banner films roll."
