Rishi Kapoor and Subhash Ghai bless Karzzzz

Unlike most remakes that run into trouble with the originals, T-Series' Karzzzz starring Urmila Matondkar, Himesh Reshammiya and Shweta Kumar will have Subhash Ghai and Rishi Kapoor (director and lead actor of Karz, the original) endorsing the film's launch.

Not invited

However the original lead actress — Tina Munim (now Ambani) and Simi Garewal (whose role Urmila is essaying now) haven't been invited.

Guest list

Bhushan Kumar from T-Series says, "We haven't invited them (Tina Ambani and Simi Garewal) as there was no reason to. We are having a small get-together and puja for the cast and crew of Karzzzz and the media on January 25. On January 27, the unit will leave for an outdoor to South Africa. Karzzzz is the first official remake and both Subhashji and Rishiji approve."

Subhash Ghai confirms his attendance, "I must respect the feelings of those paying tribute to my past work.

Bhushan also confirms that Indra Kumar's daughter Shweta has been finalised to play Tina Munim's role in Karzzzz, as reported 'Himesh finds his girl' (HiTLIST, January 19) "She's young, fresh, sweet and has acting experience." he signs off.
