Shahid finally does a commercial

While almost all the big stars jumped onto the endorsement bandwagon to earn big bucks, shahid kapoor chose to be different. After four years (Pepsi and Clinic All Clear were his last ads), Shahid has signed up for VIP luggage and is currently shooting in Goa for two TV commercials for the luggage brand.

Says Shahid, "Yes. I have signed on with VIP luggage. It's true that it's been a long time since I've done an ad. I take time before I sign an endorsement as I have to be completely convinced before signing one. It's according to the brand fit. And for me, VIP luggage suits the bill very well. They are coming up with a very trendy line of luggage and I am very happy with the entire concept."

Atul Kasbekar from Bling, who handles Shahid's endorsements, confirms, "Shahid has signed up as brand ambassador for the VIP luggage. It's newer and more youth-centric. Shahid is extremely choosy where endorsements are concerned. We had taken him through six different ad campaigns of various brands and he rejected all because the brand fit wasn't right. He chose this one as the fit was right and it was a high-comfort zone for him."

The buzz is that he's been signed for a whopping amount for the VIP ad over Rs 7 crore. Atul refuses to comment but adds, "It's a very fair amount and is as much as the big stars charge."
