Slumdog Millionaire nominated to Golden Globe

Danny Boyle's much talked about and much appreciated drama Slumdog Millionaire has been nominated for Best Motion Picture (Drama) at the Golden Globe awards. The Golden Globes is considered as a predecessor to the much more prestigious Academy Awards (Oscar) and films which usually find a nomination at the Golden Globe more often than not make the final cut at the Oscars.

Slumdog Millionaire, which has been making the rounds of film festivals for a while now, tells the story of a slum boy who goes on to take part in a quiz game show. The film released in the US recently and has received both critical and commercial success. Recently, the film also won 3 top awards at the British Independent Film awards. With this prestigious Golden Globe nomination, the makers now surely have their eyes set on the next big thing - an Oscar nomination.

Slumdog Millionaire is set to release across cinema halls in India in January 2009.
