Actress Meera fined for dissolution of her marriage

Islamabad (ANI): Pakistani film actress Meera has been fined Rs. 3,000 by Family Court judge Shazia Khalid, after her counsel withdrew a petition seeking the dissolution of her purported marriage with Attiqur Rehman. However, the Lollywood star and her family members" interim bail has been extended until September 26 by an additional district and sessions judge, reports the Daily Times.

Meera, her mother Shafqat Zohra, father Syed Muhammad Sarwar, brother Ahsan Abbas and brother-in-law Mushtaq Ahmad were granted interim bail on September 6, in a case registered against them by Rehman. The complainant alleged that they took away valuables worth thousands of rupees from his house, and also hurled life threats at him.

The accused, later, secured pre-arrest bail in the case. Meanwhile, a private TV channel reported that renowned lawyer and Human Rights Commission of Pakistan Chairwoman Asma Jahangir would represent Meera in court.
