Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani defeats Jail

People in the trade circle might not have anticipated the last week's releases Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Jail to eat into each other's revenues, simply because they belong to completely different genres. However, the unexpected happened last Friday.

Jail failed at the box-office because of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. Being a hard-hitting film, youths kept away from Jail in spite of the presence of New York star Neil Nitin Mukesh and Fashion fame Mugdha Godse. Instead, they preferred Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, thus enabling it to have a fantastic opening.

The much-hyped Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif jodi clicked. Youngsters love this rom-com. Sadly, Jail couldn't make a good start in spite good publicity. But the good reviews it got could turn it around. The good word of mouth could pull in serious film lovers into the theatres.
