Jodhaa Akbar sets make way for Jail

By Super Admin

They were one of the best things about Ashutosh Gowariker"s magnum opus Jodhaa Akbar but now they are making way for Madhur Bhandarkar"s Jail. We are talking about the spectacular sets built by Nitin Desai in his ND Studios, Karjat, for the Hrithik Roshan – Aishwarya Bachchan starrer.

They were initially not planned to be demolished as Nitin wanted the film"s fans to come and visit the sets for a nominal fee just like it is done in Hollywood studios. But now though not whole but a major portion of this Jodhaa Akbar sets have been demolished and a set of Jail for Madhur"s upcoming next starring Neil Nitin Mukesh has been erected instead. The cost for erecting the Jail set is said to be Rs.3 crore.

Earlier there was news that Madhur being the realistic filmmaker that he is, would be shooting Jail in real locations in a famous North Indian jail but apparently due to tight security reasons he was denied permissions. But still some part of the shooting has been done on real locales. Our sources also reveal that Madhur has already asked his entire star cast including Neil Nitin Mukesh, Manoj Bajpai and Arya Babbar to sport very short hair. He will be canning most of the important scenes in this month long schedule.
