Rani Mukherjee hurts sentiments of the Sikhs

By By Raymond Ronamai

Bollywood is a pain in the neck for the Sikh community. Just on the heels of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan getting into trouble with the community for their roles in Singh is Kinng and Love Aaj Kal respectively, Rani Mukherjee too has entered the dirty waters.

The news is doing the rounds that Rani Mukherjee has hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community by wearing imperfect turban in Dil Bole Hadippa produced by Yash Raj Films. The Sikhs are annoyed with Rani for donning a patka instead of a pagdi, as she is an adult. They are also not happy with the use of patka sign in place of a dot in the letter 'I' in the title Hadippa.

President of Punjabi Cultural And Heritage Board Charan Singh Sapra met the people in the Yash Raj Films banner to discuss the matter. It is said that the Board is satisfied with the makers of the film, as they have assured necessary action to be taken.

Dil Bole Hadippa features Rani Mukherjee and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles. It also features actors like Anupam Kher, Dalip Tahil, Rakhi Sawant and Sherlyn Chopra. Anurag Singh directs and Pritam composed the music.
