Shiney's wife says he is innocent

Anupam Ahuja wife of Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja says her husband is innocent and she stands by him. Shiney has been charged with raping his maid servant at his home in Mumbai when his wife was away. Anupam added that Shiney has been a wonderful husband and a loving father and there was no chance of him being involved in such an act.

Anupam who was in Delhi when the alleged rape happened returned to Mumbai by a late-night flight on Sunday after the actor was detained by the Oshiwara police station. She added that she did not know much about the maid servant but did not believe her story. She denied reports that Shiney had confessed to raping the girl.

Shiney"s father Col S P Ahuja who was almost in tears said that the truth will soon be out and his son will be proved innocent. Meanwhile Shiney has been remanded to police custody till June 18 as the preliminary medical tests conducted on the girl proved sexual assault. Shiney has been booked for rape under Section 376 and also charged under Section 339 for wrongful restraint and Section 506 for threatening another person.
