The local court in Mumbai charged a fine of Rs 500 collectively on actor Aamir Khan, director Ketan Mehta, producer Bobby Mehta and others for not coming to the court session of a five-year-old case.

The order was passed by the civil judge of the junior division, Azad Singh, while hearing a writ petition charging them for wrong portrayal of the freedom fighter Mangal Pandey in the film The Rising released in 2005.

Chairman of the film Censor Board and the Director of Publication are also involved in the case. The court has fixed September 13 as the next date of hearing for the case.
