Bollywood
superstar
Aamir
Khan
is
building
another
empire
in
Germany.
Following
the
successful
premiere
of
Peepli
Live
at
the
60th
Berlin
International
Film
Festival,
Aamir
has
decided
to
release
it
simultaneously
in
India
and
Germany.
UTV
pictures,
the
distributor
of
the
film,
has
reached
a
deal
with
Rapid
Eyes
Movies
for
its
release
in
August
with
German
sub-titles.
The
German
company
has
also
bought
the
home
video
rights
for
the
film.
Peepli
Live
director
Anusha
Rizvi
said
that
they
couldn't
release
the
film
early
in
India,
as
they
had
to
go
to
the
Sundance
Film
Festival.
She
added
that
it
was
a
great
honour
for
her
film
to
be
screened
in
the
Berlinale
Special
section.
The
film
is
about
two
farmers
in
an
Indian
village.
On
facing
the
risk
of
losing
their
land
for
failing
to
repay
their
bank
credit,
one
of
them
decides
to
take
his
own
life
so
that
his
family
could
claim
support
from
the
government.
It
features
theatre
actors
who
have
never
appeared
before
a
camera
and
was
shot
in
Badwai
village,
Madhya
Pradesh.
