Balaji and Milan Luthria"s Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai promises to be a super-entertaining rewind to the era of romance, smuggling, cabaret and the mafia.

The film set in the 1970"s sees lead actor Ajay Devgn play a character much inspired by the infamous Haji Mastan. Devgn dons a pure white ensemble throughout the film, an inspiration from Amitabh Bachchan's iconic look in Deewaar.

Confirms director Milan Luthria, “I happened to see Deewaar and loved Amitji"s all-white look when he goes for his father"s funeral in the film. I realized that the look would work for Ajay too as he looks good in it. Ajay wears white throughout the film. It gives him a very different identity."

The team had to go through a grueling 37 costume changes that reflected the classic style of the 1970"s before settling on the “all white" look for Ajay.

Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai is releasing on the 30th July 2010 and follows the rise of Sultan (Ajay Devgn). The conflict, when his protege Shoaib (Emraan Hashmi), challenges his supremacy, and usurps power to rule the murky underbelly of Mumbai is shown within the movie as well.
