Amitabh, Shahrukh, Ash to attend IIFA Awards

The Bachchans boycotted this year"s Filmfare Awards following the false reports by a reputed publication house that Aishwarya Bachchan was suffering from stomach tuberculosis. However, they are attending the forthcoming International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2010, to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from June 3-5.

It was reported that Amitabh would skip this year"s IIFA Awards following the resistance by the Tamilians on the participation of Bollywood celebrities at the event in Sri Lanka, as a protest against Mahinda Rajapaksa government for waging war against the Tamils between 2007 and 2009. However, the top officials from the Sri Lanka Tourist Board have confirmed that Amitabh, the official brand ambassador of IIFA, would attend the event.

Adding more spice to the event, Bollywood Baadshah Shahrukh Khan has also confirmed that he would attend the function. It is also said that he is planning to screen the trailers of his forthcoming film Ra.1. Former beauty queen turned actress Aishwarya Bachchan is also going to attend the event.
