MS Dhoni takes his wife home

The just-married Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni celebrated his 29th birthday yesterday (July 7) in style by taking his wife home amidst scores of fans waiting tirelessly to have a glimpse of them.

MS Dhoni married Sakshi Singh Rawat at a hush hush ceremony at a resort on July 4. It was speculated that the couple would hold their wedding reception to coincide with Dhoni's birthday, but they instead returned to their home in Ranchi. Dhoni's family welcome the newly-wedded couple with traditional rituals.

Dhoni didn't disappoint his fans either, as he waved to them from the balcony of his house with his wife by his side. "It is a double treat for us. Dhoni got married four days ago and today being his birthday," Times of India quoted a fan as saying.

It maybe recalled that Dhoni was linked to Indian celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Asin Thottumkal and Lakshmi Rai in the past but he surprised everyone, including the media, by marrying Sakshi on the following day of the engagement.
