Bollywood
filmmaker
Karan
Johar
surprised
the
journos
on
the
sidelines
of
FICCI
Frames
2010
by
speaking
out
venoms
at
the
film
reviewers.
He
thinks
that
they
should
have
an
in-depth
understanding
of
cinema
first
before
giving
their
opinion.
He
said
that
film
reviewers
need
to
know
the
basics
of
cinema
and
filmmaking
before
using
witty
language
and
nasty
one-liners,
as
their
reviews
decide
the
fate
of
a
film.
He
added
that
reviews
matters
a
lot
to
small
films
like
Dev
D
and
A
Wednesday,
as
readers
are
influenced
by
the
reviews,
whereas
it
doesn't
matter
much
to
big-budget
and
star-studded
films.
Karan
admitted
that
reviews
bother
him
personally
for
a
week
or
two.
He
is
of
the
opinion
that
reviewers
in
India
need
to
be
more
honest
and
creative.
