Karan Johar gave a mouthful to film critics

By By Raymond Ronamai

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar surprised the journos on the sidelines of FICCI Frames 2010 by speaking out venoms at the film reviewers. He thinks that they should have an in-depth understanding of cinema first before giving their opinion.

He said that film reviewers need to know the basics of cinema and filmmaking before using witty language and nasty one-liners, as their reviews decide the fate of a film. He added that reviews matters a lot to small films like Dev D and A Wednesday, as readers are influenced by the reviews, whereas it doesn't matter much to big-budget and star-studded films.

Karan admitted that reviews bother him personally for a week or two. He is of the opinion that reviewers in India need to be more honest and creative.
