Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh watched Aamir Khan's Peepli Live yesterday evening at his residence, 7 Race Course Road, Delhi. A special screening was organised for the Prime Minister by the makers of the film.

The PM watched the film along with his wife Gursharan Kaur, family members and close friends. Peepli Live unit including producer Aamir Khan, director Anusha Rizvi, distributor Ronnie Screwala and lead actors Raghuvir Yadav and Omkar Das Manikpuri also joined the PM at the special screening.

Interestingly, senior BJP leader LK Advani, who also watched the film, was all praise for Aamir Khan for revealing the cruel reality of rural India. He however said that farmer suicide issue should have been depicted seriously.

Peepli Live is a satire on the pledge of the farmers and brings to light their struggle. It also tells how the people right from the politicians to the bureaucrats to the television reporters to the local people try to exploit a situation to their advantage.
