Khan
makes
a
mark
as
the
first
ever
non-commercial
Hindi
movie
to
hit
over
600
screens
on
its
release
this
Friday.
It
has
by
now
recovered
its
production
costs
by
selling
its
satellite
rights
for
a
total
of
Rs.
100
million.
The
movie
is
made
approximately
on
a
budget
of
Rs.100
million
inclusive
of
the
marketing
costs.
Journalist-turned
director
Anusha
Rizvi
made
her
directorial
debut
with
this
movie
which
is
a
satirical
take
on
the
circumstances
leading
poor
farmers
to
commit
suicides.
It
has
already
elicited
political
and
media
response.
The
film
would
also
be
shown
in
over
100
halls
in
the
overseas
countries,
apart
from
Britain.
For
the
first
time
in
the
history
of
Hindi
Cinema,
Peepli
Live's
production
team
has
partnered
with
Artificial
Eye
in
UK.
Artificial
Eye
happens
to
be
the
finest
distribution
chain
that
looks
after
the
circulation
of
art
house
mainstream
releases.
The
movie
is
scheduled
to
be
released
on
24th
of
September
in
Britain.
The
cast
of
the
film
is
indeed
a
mixed
bag,
since
it
has
actors
who
are
actual
tribals
from
Bhadwai
village,
Madhya
Pradesh.
Other
cast
members
include
those
of
the
theater
troupe,
Naya
Theatre,
initiated
by
the
late
legend
of
Indian
theater,
Habib
Tanvir.
