Priyanka Chopra's grandma passes away

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra is bereaved by the sudden death of her paternal grandmother. She received the news on Sunday (May 2) evening that her grandma had passed away while she was shooting for the film Saat Khoon Maaf in Coorg. Following the demise, she rushed to Delhi for the last rites.

Priyanka informed director Vishal Bhardwaj, who asked her to join her bereaved family in Delhi. He assured her that they would wait for her return. She drove all the way from Coorg to Bangalore to catch a flight to Delhi.

“It"s so strange. The entire family had gathered together in Delhi a month ago when I got the National award. That had made my grandmother so happy. Little did we know it was the last time I"d get to see her," Mumbai Mirror quoted a close friend of Priyanka as saying.
