Filmmaker
Prakash
Jha
must
be
heaving
a
deep
sigh
of
relief,
as
his
controversial
political
thriller
Raajneeti
starring
Ranbir
Kapoor
and
Katrina
Kaif,
has
been
cleared
for
release.
The
Film
Certification
Appellate
Tribunal
in
New
Delhi
has
issued
U/A
certificate
to
the
film
with
few
cuts,
thus
paving
the
way
for
its
release
next
Friday.
Censor
Board
of
Film
Certification
had
earlier
refused
to
issue
certificate
to
the
film,
alleging
that
Katrina's
character
in
the
film
resembles
that
of
Sonia
Gandhi's
real
life.
However,
the
Certification
Appellate
Tribunal
overruled
the
decision
of
the
Censor
Board
and
gave
green
signal
to
the
film.
The
controversy
broke
out
over
the
certification
of
the
film
though
Prakash
had
cleared
many
a
time
that
the
characters
of
his
film
have
nothing
to
do
with
real
life
politicians.
Raajneeti
also
feature
actors
like
Ajay
Devgn,
Nana
Patekar
and
Manoj
Bajpai
in
vital
roles.
It
is
scheduled
for
release
on
June
4.
