Aishwarya Rai Bachchan honoured with Pazhassi Raja Purashkaram

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was recently honoured with the Pazhassi Raja Purashkaram - 'Abhinaya Kaala Ratna' by the Pazhassi Raja Charitable Trust. Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar were also among the other prominent figures who received the honour.

The only other Bollywood celebrity who was conferred the award is Amitabh Bachchan.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, however could not attend the event due to a prior commitment. However, Aishwarya sent a message thanking the trust and dedicated the award to her fans and family.
The ceremony, that was to take place in Delhi in the presence of the President of India had to be rescheduled to Mumbai due to the sad demise of his Highness Sankara Varma (the senior Raja of Pazhassi Kovilalam).
