Actor Amitabh Bachchan apologised to his fans yesterday, who had gathered outside his Juhu residence 'Jalsa' yesterday, for allegedly being roughed up by the police. The Bachchan fans usually gather every week in front of his residence to catch a glimpse of the superstar, but yesterday when the huge rush went out of control the police roughed up the public.

"I apologise to all the fans that came to Jalsa this evening, as on all Sundays, and got roughed up by the police," Amitabh tweeted late in the evening. The actor informed that he spoke to the concerned police station and a representative was sent to apologise for the action. "They (police) were controlling the huge rush," he added.

Thanking the police for prompt action, Mr. Bachchan wrote, "Thank you Mr Bhagat and Mumbai Police for your prompt action..these fans do not mean trouble, just wait obediently to cheer..." Meanwhile, the Juhu police was unaware of any such incident outside the Bachchan's bungalow as there was nothing mentioned in the register.

However, they accepted that the police official mentioned in Amitabh's tweet is their senior official.
