Actor
Amitabh
Bachchan
says
that
his
character
in
the
upcoming
film
Aarakshan
is
about
an
idealistic
teacher
who
believes
in
reservations.
He
wants
to
give
opportunities
to
the
weaker
sections
so
that
they
can
succeed
in
life
with
their
own
merit.
After
unveiling
the
first
look,
Amitabh
spoke
to
the
reporters
about
Aarakshan,
which
is
all
set
to
release
on
August
12.
Bachchan
informs
that
his
character
in
the
film
does
not
believe
in
casteism
and
believes
in
reservation
which
gives
opportunity
for
the
weaker
sections
to
grow.
The
film
talks
about
opportunities
and
commercialisation
of
the
education
system.
Bachchan
denied
to
speak
his
personal
view
on
reservation
at
the
public
forum
as
he
did
not
want
to
create
any
kind
of
controversy.
Talking
about
his
first
experience
with
director
Prakash
Jha
during
Aarakshan's
shooting,
Amitabh
told,
“Prakash
Jha
has
to
be
complemented
for
a
well-organised
and
disciplined
shooting
schedule
even
though
we
were
filming
a
very
difficult
subject."
Lyricist
Prasoon
Joshi,
who
has
composed
music
for
a
song
in
the
film
described
Jha
as
an
alert
citizen
who
had
good
grasp
over
the
issue
of
reservations.
He
told,
“Due
to
this,
I
was
enlightened
with
his
research
and
it
helped
to
write
lyrics
for
the
film."
Jha
cleared
that
Aarakshan
was
not
inspired
by
Mandal
Commission
agitation
of
the
90s.
"Reservation
is
a
wide
and
complex
issue.
I
am
not
making
a
statement
for
or
against
it
through
my
film.
I
am
only
trying
to
explore
it
in
a
story
form.
Audiences
are
very
intelligent
and
they
can
find
solution
themselves," the
director
explained.
