Bombay High Court lifts ban on release of Shahrukh's Ra.One

Superstar Shahrukh Khan and his team of the movie Ra.One have got a big relief after the Bombay High Court rejected the ban plea filed by Television producer and script writer Yash Patnaik. The court asked the filmmakers to deposit Rs One crore before releasing the superhero film.

Earlier, Yash Patnaik had moved the court claiming that much-anticipated sci-fi film Ra.One was conceptualised by him. The script writer alleged that Ra.One producers had copied his idea of an Indian superhero and thus violated the copyright act. In his plea, he had also claimed that he had spent thousands of hours on the concept and had registered it with the Film Writers Association on December 26, 2006.

However, Division Bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice RS Dalvi, who heard the case today (Friday, 21st October), gave a green signal for the release of the film Ra.One. Meanwhile, the judges also ordered the producers to deposit Rs one crore for release of the movie.
