Salman on Dabangg bagging National Award

South Indian films walked away with most of the top awards when the 58th National Awards was announced on May 19. However, Arbaaz Khan's debut production venture, Dabangg starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha bagged the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. And Salman is happy that his film has won a National Award.

Reacting to Dabangg winning National Award, Salman said that people had watched the film and liked it even before it got any award. He thinks that was the first award for the film. He added that he is happy that the government has also given them an award.

Salman"s father Salim Khan is excited on Dabangg winning the coveted award. He said that they are thrilled by the national recognition and that it is yet to sink in. He added that the credit should go to his family and everyone associated with the film.
