Actress
Freida
Pinto
has
come
under
criticisms
of
Indian
critics
for
allegedly
shunning
film
roles
in
Bollywood.
Meanwhile,
the
actress
is
defending
her
not
working
for
Bollywood.
Pinto
says
that
she
has
not
done
Indian
films
because
till
date
she
has
not
found
a
script
that
has
caught
her
attention.
She
wants
to
do
films
for
which
she
feels
passionate
about.
“I
keep
saying
I'm
not
at
all
famous
in
my
own
country,
because
people
do
not
think
I
have
done
anything
for
India.
I
was
upset
initially.
I
guess
everybody
in
India
has
tried
really
hard
to
do
what
they
do
and
then
move
into
the
West," told
the
actress
to
the
Daily
Express.
Explaining
her
reason
for
not
doing
Bollywood
films,
Freida
said,
“The
reason
why
I'm
doing
these
things
outside
my
country,
bit
by
bit,
is
to
be
able
to
come
back
to
India
equipped
with
the
knowledge
and
understanding
of
how
to
hopefully
produce
my
own
films
one
fine
day,"
she
added.
Pinto
rose
to
international
fame
in
2008's
after
making
her
debut
in
Slumdog
Millionaire.
Since
then
the
actress
has
appeared
in
Hollywood
and
American
projects,
Woody
Allen's
You
Will
Meet
a
Tall
Dark
Stranger
and
the
upcoming
films
Rise
of
the
Planet
of
the
Apes
and
Immortals.
The
actress
recently
met
with
a
lot
of
criticisms
from
critics
back
home
saying
that
Freida
is
blossoming
in
film
success,
insisting
that
she
should
appear
in
more
Indian
films.
