Hollywood seeks inspiration from Salman Khan

The Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston flick Just Go With It, which released in India this week, is the remake of Salman Khan's film Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya.

A plastic surgeon (Adam Sandler), in love with a younger schoolteacher and seeks the help of his loyal assistant (Jennifer Aniston) for pretending to be his soon to be ex-wife, in order hide a careless lie. The story is exactly, the same as David Dawan's Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005), starring Salman Khan as the doctor, Katrina Kaif as the young girl and Sushmita Sen as the loyal assistant.

The surprising part is that a Hollywood film has copied a Bollywood film. Well, to clear out the confusion, Main Pyaar Kyun Kiya and Just Go With It are a remake of a 1969 flick, Cactus Flower. Therefore, this time Bollywood was quicker in seeking inspiration as compared to Hollywood.

Earlier the same happened with Steve Carell's Dinner For Schmucks, which was released last year. The film had exactly the same storyline like Vinay Pathak's superhit Bheja Fry. Later it was learnt that both the films were a remake of the French film The Dinner Game that was released way back in 1998.
