Kareena Kapoor, Madhur Bhandarkar start shooting for film Heroine

The much-talked about Bollywood film Heroine has gone on the floors. The shooting started on Saturday, 26th Nov 2011. The filming began with a silent prayer for the victims of 26/11. Along with Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor, director Madhur Bhandarkar looked very happy to be back shooting a movie after spending months working on the story and the technicalities of the movie. The cast and the crew looked all geared up to make a masterpiece.

Madhur Bhandarkar had announced the shooting of the movie Heroine earlier this year and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was playing the lead role in it. But the filming was called off after Aish announced her pregnancy in May. Later, the Bollywood filmmaker approached Kareena Kapoor, who was initially offered the lead role but had rejected it after Madhur refused to drop certain controversial scene from the film.


However, Heroine revolves around a female character, who is a superstar heroine from Hindi Film Industry. The film is a delightful, bold, shocking, scandalous, sensitive exposing scenes behind the glitz and glamour that our film stars reside. The movie will take the audience on a journey to see what goes behind the closed doors of make up rooms and vanity vans. It will reveal the fake smiles and politically correct quotes, the secrets and the lies, the incredible highs of fame and the lonely depths of failure.
