Bollywood mourn MF Hussain's death

Popular Indian born painter Maqbool Fida Husain aka MF Hussain, who was given the title Picasso of India, passed away at the wee hours today (June 9). The 95-year-old painter died of cardiac arrest at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London. He was not in good health for over a month.

The death of MF Hussain, who had also produced and directed a few films including Gaja Gamini with Madhuri Dixit, has saddened people from Bollywood. Many have taken to Twitter to express their grief on the demise of the great painter.

“Very sad to hear of the passing of M F Hussain saab. A wonderful person and a great artist. May his soul rest in peace," tweeted Abhishek Bachchan. “My God what a tragic loss. Hussein saab is no more..I met him last in dubai at the emirates towers some months ago ..just cannot believe it,"wrote Celina Jaitley.

Rahul Bose wrote on a micro-blogging site, “Hussain passes away. we hang our heads partly in grief & partly in shame for not being able to let him spend his last days in this country." Neha Dhupia also tweeted, “The end of yet another genius, MF Hussain RIP."

It may be recalled that MF Hussain was close to Bollywood and admired Indian beauties. He had openly expressed his admiration for actresses like Madhuri Dixit, Amrita Rao, Vidya Balan, Tabu and Anushka Sharma. Bollywood will surely miss this great personality, who was an inspiration.
