Minissha Lamba detained at Mumbai airport

Bollywood actress Minissha Lamba was detained at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport yesterday (May 18) for carrying gold and diamond jewellery worth over Rs 50 lakh. The actress, who returned home after attending Cannes Film Festival, was questioned by the Customs officials after undeclared assets were found in her baggage.

An official at the airport said that the actress had gold bangles, necklace, earrings and diamond jewellery in her bag. He added that they were questioning her for trying to evade customs duty by not declaring the assets. She was questioned late in the night for the offense.

Besides being questioned at the airport, one of her bags was stolen at Nice Airport, France. “Disaster has struck. A baggage of mine has been stolen at Nice Airport. I can't believe something like this has happened," Minissha posted on her Twitter page. “Even with two CCTV cameras right over the baggage, police or airline still won't confirm if it was 'stolen' or 'misplaced' (sic)," she added.
