As
an
honourable
gesture
to
the
legendary
showman
Raj
Kapoor,
a
street
in
the
City
of
Brampton
in
Canada
will
be
named
after
him.
Canada
is
hosting
the
12th
International
Indian
Film
Academy
(IIFA)
weekend.
The
street
will
be
named
as
Raj
Kapoor
Crescent
and
several
members
of
the
Kapoor
family
will
be
present
during
the
event.
The
Kapoors
will
also
attend
the
opening
of
the
IIFA
film
festival
on
June
26
in
Toronto.
The
City
of
Brampton
celebrates
late
Raj
Kapoor
for
his
contributions
towards
Indian
Cinema.
The
city
would
induct
him
into
the
Brampton
Hall
of
Fame
and
will
place
a
star
in
his
honour.
IIFA
and
the
Toronto
International
Film
Festival
(TIFF)
have
tied
up
to
host
a
tribute
to
the
patriarch
of
the
Kapoor
clan
that
will
be
titled,
''Raj
Kapoor
and
the
Golden
Age
of
Indian
Cinema''.
The
festival
will
also
be
celebrated
by
displaying
several
pieces
of
memorabilia
from
RK
films
like
the
costumes,
cut-outs,
props,
etc.,
used
during
the
film
making.
