Ram Gopal Varma can't use 'Rangeela Re'

By Kalyani Prasad Keshri

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is unable to use his own film Rangeela's title song in his next release, Not A Love Story, as he does not have the rights of the song. The director has been trying hard to get the rights of his own song from the film Rangeela, but is unable to acquire.

RGV and the entire cast and crew had zeroed on this AR Rahman's title track as a part of the background score for his real-life horror film, Not A Love Story. Apparently, a terrific remix of 'Hoja Rangeela Re' was prepared and it went along well with the crime thriller. However, because of the rights issue the song cannot be used and now the crew is in a fix and is unable to find a proper substitute for it.

Ramu confirmed the news to Mid Day, "Yes, I do want to use the song in my next. But the rights are not with me. Yeah, I can't use a song from my own film while others merrily remix songs from other people's films."
