Ranbir-Shammi Kapoor to face-off in Rockstar

The present heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor will indulge in a jam session with yesteryear heartthrob Shammi Kapoor in a scene in Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar. While Ranbir will be playing the guitar, his granduncle Shammi will play the shehnai.

A source from Mid Day informs, "Ranbir plays a boy from a small town with dreams of becoming a huge rock star. There is a scene in the film where there's a jugalbandi face-off between the modern generation (RK) and the older one (Shammi)."

Ranbir is very excited about the scene and has been rehearsing to make it perfect. Ranbir took guitar lesson for two months so that he could play the musical instrument in Rockstar perfectly. The source also informs that the scene will showcase the two generation, the classical and the rock.

It added, “It's an important scene so members of the Kapoor family are expected to attend the shoot." Shammi Kapoor who has not been keeping well for quiet sometime and has to undergo dialysis thrice a week, will shoot for Rockstar despite bad health. Imtiaz has made sure that the shooting timing suits Shammi's condition.

Veteran Kapoor told, “In my younger days, I used to play the shehnai or would enact it to perfection. I think I can do it today, also. As a child, Ranbir would sit on my lap and sing classical music to me. He wasn't trained in that but did it just to bug me."
