Rockstar director chooses Ranbir Kapoor over John Abraham

Bollywood filmmaker Imtiaz Ali's much-awaited film Rockstar will hit the big screens this weekend. But do you know Ranbir Kapoor wasn't the first choice for the film. Initially, John Abraham was approached for the film, but a complete change in the story turned down the entire idea.

Imtiaz then signed Ranbir, who had to play a younger, Delhi-based Jat, as he felt John didn"t suit the role any longer. Imtiaz told the media he started off with John Abraham initially, but since he had to change the entire story and the lead actor's character, he felt the need to replace him.

“The protagonist is now a Jat from Delhi, and much younger than the previous character," he told the media. But carrying no hard feelings further, John still has turned out to be an ardent supporter of the film. “Rockstar is Ranbir"s film and it"s coming out great. I don"t want to talk about the past," John said.
