The
makers
of
2011's
one
of
the
biggest
hit
movies
Tanu
weds
Manu,
have
decided
to
replace
the
original
Manu,
Madhavan
in
the
sequel.
To
make
the
sequel
a
bigger
hit,
director
Anand
Rai
is
trying
to
pull
Shahid
Kapoor
as
Manu
in
the
film.
So
what's
the
reason
behind
original
Manu's
replacement?
One
of
the
sources
reported
that
Madhavan
upped
his
fee
and
demanded
a
whopping
price
for
the
sequel.
So,
the
producers
felt
that
they
could
easily
afford
a
top
league
star
with
that
kind
of
money.
"The
producers
don't
want
to
lose
their
ace.
They
can
easily
do
without
Maddy
and
find
a
bigger
name
for
Manu's
role," the
source
said.
Hence,
director
Anand
Rai
has
been
meeting
Shahid
Kapoor
these
days.
The
source
told
Mumbai
mirror
that
Anand
Rai
has
discussed
not
one
but
two
scripts
with
Shahid.
He
has
given
the
actor
a
choice
to
work
in
either
film
-
Tanu
Weds
Manu
sequel
or
Ranjhana.
Preferably
both.
"Shahid
is
currently
going
through
both
the
scripts.
He
is
still
to
decide
which
one
he
wants
to
be
a
part
of,"
added
the
source.
Shahid's
Mausam
is
doing
well
currently
in
box
office.
Also,
Shahid
has
bagged
Tom
Cruise's
role
in
the
remake
of
Knight
and
Day.
So
Shahid,
it
seems
that
your
stars
are
working
these
days
since
you
are
bagging
the
big-named
banners
of
the
industry.
