Ajay
Devgn's
much-hyped
film
Singham
met
a
huge
setback
on
the
first
day
of
its
release
after
several
Kannada
organisations
staged
protests
against
the
screening
of
the
film
in
Karnataka
over
alleged
derogatory
remark
on
Kannadigas
in
the
film.
Its
screening
was
halted
in
various
parts
of
the
state.
Karnataka
Rakshana
Vedike
activists
pulled
down
posters
of
the
film
and
damaged
several
theatres
in
areas
like
Bidar,
Hubli,
Bagalkot,
Raichur,
Bijapur
and
other
areas.
Protestors
are
angry
that
Kannadigas
are
referred
to
dogs
in
a
particular
scene.
There
is
a
scene
where
villain
Prakash
Raj
threatens
Ajay
that
he
would
bring
one
thousand
people
from
the
Karnataka
border
to
finish
him.
Ajay
then
said
a
lion
is
enough
to
thrash
a
thousand
dogs.
However,
the
angry
protestors
claimed
down
after
the
distributors
announced
that
the
controversial
dialogue
has
been
removed
from
the
film.
