Gul said that the role she plays in Turning 30 is very much like her real life character. She added that the film has turned out to be much bigger than she expected. She went on to say that the amount spent on its publicity and promotions was big.

Turning 30, featuring Gul Panag and Purab Kohli, is a women-centric film with urban love story. It tells the story of a girl whose life takes a twist on her 30th birthday. This hilarious film brings to light how a young woman turns into a woman of substance. It is directed by Alankrita Shrivastava and produced by Prakash Jha.
