Though
Ajay
Devgn
is
busy
with
Dil
Toh
Baccha
Hai
Ji,
he
agreed
to
doing
a
voiceover
for
Deol-starrer
Yamla
Pagla
Deewana
the
minute
director
Samir
Karnik
asked
him
to.
And
he
did
it
for
free!
Devgn
confirms,
"I
did
it
for
Amit
Sharma
(one
of
the
partners
in
his
new
venture
ticketplease.com),
Dharamji,
Sunny
and
Bobby.
I'm
very
fond
of
them
and
would
do
anything
for
them."
Reveals
Samir,
"We
required
an
actor
with
a
good
voice
to
do
a
narration
at
the
beginning
of
the
film
when
the
credits
are
rolling.
It
is
a
60-second
narrative
where
the
story
is
being
set
up
and
the
past
is
weaved
into
the
present.
“YPD
(Yamla
Pagla
Deewana)
is
the
story
of
an
NRI
sardar
(Sunny)
in
search
of
his
father
(Dharmendra)
and
brother
(Bobby)
and
how
he
finds
them
and
take
them
back
to
his
country.
It's
a
humorous
script
that
had
to
be
told
in
a
deadpan
fashion.
I
am
a
big
fan
of
Ajay's
deep
voice.
I
thought
he
would
be
ideal
to
do
it."
Karnik
got
Sharma,
who
is
also
co-producer
of
YPD,
to
ask
if
AJ
would
hear
him
out.
"I
met
Ajay,
gave
him
the
lines
and
told
him
that
the
tone
of
the
dialogue
was
sarcastic.
He
immediately
agreed.
Though
he
was
dubbing
for
DTBHJ
and
had
a
very
hectic
schedule
that
day,
he
asked
me
to
come
to
the
dubbing
theatre.
In
10
minutes,
he
was
through
with
the
voiceover
no
rehearsals!
He
didn't
charge
a
single
paisa
for
it."
