Aamir Khan keeps his promise, attends auto driver's son's wedding

Aamir Khan has proved to be a real life hero for many of his fans. We have seen many Bollywood stars attending high profile wedding but never seen any star go this far to attend an auto rickshaw driver's son's wedding.

Aamir Khan specially flew down to Varanasi to attend Rajiv's wedding, who is the son of Ram Lakhan (auto rikshaw driver). The news of Aamir Khan attending the wedding attracted huge crowds at the wedding venue. So, to ensure the actor's safety a heavy deployment of police was made.

In December 2009, Aamir Khan visited Varanasi to promote his blockbuster movie 3 idiots. There he booked an auto, which belonged to Ram Lakhan. Masquerading as a commoner, Aamir Khan searched every nook and corner to locate his maternal grandmother's house. All thanks to Lakhan, Aamir finally succeeded in locating the house. Since then Lakhan is very special to Aamir.

After Aamir returned to Mumbai, a messenger visited Lakhan's residence with two air tickets and a golden ring. Soon after Lakhan visited Mumbai and enjoyed the premiere of Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots.

Earlier this month, Lakhan went to Mumbai to give the invitation for his son’s wedding to the actor who said that he would attend the wedding.

After hearing this news Rajiv told a leading daily “I never dreamt in my life that a superstar would attend my wedding. When we got the information from Aamir Khan’s office on Tuesday that he would come here, we could not believe our ears.”

Aamir Khan, you always surprise us by doing something new in your movies, but this time you have proved that you are not only a good actor but a very good human being too. And we have just one word for you. RESPECT!
