Filmmaker
Anurag
Kashyap,
who
is
all
excited
to
attend
the
65th
Cannes
film
festival
(CFF),
has
said
that
Cannes
is
the
Mecca
for
every
filmmaker.
Despite
being
a
commercial
film,
his
next
movie
Gangs
of
Wasseypur
has
been
selected
for
screening
at
the
CFF.
He
is
all
thrilled
about
it.
Talking
to
PTI,
Anurag
Kashyap
said,
"Cannes
is
the
Mecca
for
every
filmmaker.
People
usually
think
if
a
film
goes
to
Cannes
its
an
art
film,
but
we
have
made
a
commercial
film.
It
has
taken
lot
of
years
for
me
to
reach
here.
This
year,
so
many
films
from
here
have
gone
to
Cannes.
For
me
a
film
being
selected
for
the
Cannes
festival
is
a
tremendous
thing."
The
Bollywood
filmmaker
is
now
busy
promoting
the
movie
Gangs
of
Wasseypur
in
India.
Anurag
added,
"It
is
important
for
me
to
know
where
and
what
my
target
audience
is
and
what
they
like
to
see
as
everyone
used
to
tell
me
don't
make
this
film
or
that.
Today,
I
realised
I
was
not
wrong.”
However,
Gangs
of
Wasseypur
is
a
revenge
drama,
which
is
set
in
a
small
town
in
Jharkand.
The
movie
stars
Manoj
Bajpayee,
Tigmanshu
Dhulia,
Huma
Qureshi,
Nawazuddin
Siddiqui,
Reema
Sen
and
others.
Anurag
Kashyap
further
said,
"For
the
first
time
I
have
made
a
commercial
film...It
is
a
massy
film.
It
is
my
most
expensive
film
till
date.”
