Comedian Jaspal Bhatti cremated
Jaspal Bhatti's pyre was lit by his son Jasraj, who was also critically injured in the accident but was discharged from hospital in the afternoon after a special request. Hundreds of mourners from different fields attended the cremation of Jaspal Bhatti. Jaspal Bhatti's Honda Accord car had rammed into a tree along the highway while he was on his way to Jalandhar for the promotion of his latest film Power Cut. His son was driving the car.
Police said that the accident happened around 3 am. Jaspal Bhatti, 57, was taken to a hospital in Jalandhar after the accident where doctors declared him dead. He suffered severe head injuries in the accident. Jaspal Bhatti was the director and producer of Power Cut which was to be released on Friday. The film was to launch his son Jasraj.
Jaspal Bhatti is survived by wife Savita Bhatti, son Jasraj and daughter Raabiya.
